WWE has been taping shows around the UK for a few months now, as on June 18th, 2018, it was announced that WWE would begin filming the new show entitled NXT UK. Taping commenced in July of 2018 and it was announced that this new brand would have new championships to join the NXT UK Championship, currently held by Pete Dunne. The new championships would consist of a Women’s Championship and a Tag Team Championship.
On Sunday September 30th, 2018, PROGRESS Wrestling hold their annual big show and this year they go bigger than they, or any other independent wrestling company has gone in England. This show, Hello Wembley, has been announced and built up for over one year as it was announced on September 10th, 2017 at the Ally Pally show, Chapter 55: Chase The Sun.
With three huge shows this weekend, I have prepared the line-ups and thoughts going into each show. I will get straight into the line-ups here, with links to each individual full preview. Each full preview will have links to watch these shows and times they will be live.
On September 30th, 2018 PROGRESS Wrestling makes a long awaited debut in the SSE Arena, Wembley in London. Three years ago PROGRESS Wrestling put on their largest ticketed show to that date, entitled Chapter 36: We’re Gonna Need A Bigger Room, again. Chapter 36 saw 2,400 fans in the Brixton Academy and was held in September 2016. This was the largest PROGRESS show up to that point. Chapter 55: Chase The Sun was almost one year after Chapter 36 and PROGRESS Wrestling were set on making their September shows bigger than normal. PROGRESS hired out the biggest venue this particular British independent Professional Wrestling company had hired up to that point, Alexandra Palace, and on September 10th, 2017, PROGRESS Wrestling held Chapter 55. On the night of September 10th, 2017 PROGRESS Wrestling announced they Chapter 76 would be held in an even larger venue one year later, Wembley. This will be the biggest show that PROGRESS have put on.
This past week Ring Of Honor toured the UK for the second time in the same year, for the first time. Earlier this year Ring Of Honor presented the Honor United Tour and due to “Tremendous response in the UK”they returned for a second tour.
Ring Of Honor will return to the UK this month with three shows, All of which are available Exclusively on Fite TV.
World Of Sport Wrestling returned to British television today since the New Year’s special on December 31st, 2016. Before the New Year’s special on ITV, WOS Wrestling had been off British television since September 28, 1985.
We have lots of updates on the next Ring Of Honor UK Tour entitled HONOR RE-UNITED.
First, Ring Of Honor have announced they will be having British female wrestlers debuting for the company on this tour. ROH have announced Kay Lee Ray and Viper so far, im not sure if they will announce more names.
