AXS TV to air NJPW “Fighting Spirit Unleashed” on Friday Oct. 5th 8pE/5pP

AXS TV will air the New Japan Pro Wrestling show entitled “Fighting Spirit Unleashed on Friday October 5th, 2018 at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific time. This show will take place on Sunday, September 30th in the Walter Pyramid at the California State University, Long Beach. NJPW World Commentator, Kevin Kelly will join the legendary commentator Jim Ross for the broadcast. Josh Barnett will miss this event due to arrangements in Japan at the time.

Josh Barnett said: “I had a conflicting event with one of my fighters in Japan, otherwise I’d be be there to call this event and have my partner Jim Ross back, as always. I’ll be back next time!”

Jim Ross had this to say, “While I will miss working with my normal broadcast partner Josh Barnett, I am excited for the opportunity to work again with Kevin Kelly, Whom I broadcast with for the first time 20 years ago” Jim also said, ” Kevin has great knowledge from working on NJPW World, so he’ll bring another perspective to the broadcast and, as we all know, anything can and usually does happen. It should be a heck of a night.”

This show will be headlined by IWGP US Heavyweight Champion Juice Robinson defending his title against Cody.

AXS TV continues it’s coverage of the G1 Climax 28 Tournament every Friday night at 8pE/5pP leading up to Fighting Spirit Unleashed, with the tournament finale premiering September 28th, featuring the acclaimed Finals between Hiroshi Tanahashi vs Kota Ibushi. The network will also air the previous dive years’ G1 Climax Finals in a late-night strip at 5aE/2aP from September 24-28.
